Beyoncé is no stranger to breaking huge records. She's the only person to have their first six albums debut at Number 1 in the US, she's the most nominated woman in Grammy history and she's the highest paid black artist of all time. She's a living legend. And now the 'Formation' hitmaker is the first woman to have three of their albums surpass one billion Spotify streams.
Monday, February 5, 2018, Beyoncé's critically acclaimed studio album 4 has reached the one billion mark on Spotify. In doing so, it joins I Am... Sasha Fierce and BEYONCÉ, as one of the 'Countdown' singer's three albums to have a billion collective streams on the service.
Its most popular tracks include 'Run the World (Girls)' and 'Love On Top', which have 400 million streams combined.
What's most impressive about this feat though is the fact that Beyoncé tends to avoid Spotify in favour of her own streaming platform TIDAL. Her latest album Lemonade is yet to be added to Spotify and she withheld BEYONCÉ from it for almost a year.
Taking this into consideration, it just goes to show how successful Beyoncé is that she can rule Spotify regardless.
Not to mention, the fact that albums of hers that are over five years old are outstreaming ones that are out today.
As it stands, Beyoncé has over a whopping 31 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Just imagine how many she would have, if she added Lemonade to the service.
